RPG’s GMR program provides young managers opportunities for professional advancement. GMRs are hired at fresher as well as lateral levels from premier institutes such as IIM-A, IIM-C, ISB, XLRI and others. Their career streams depend on their aspirations and can range from management, chartered accountancy to law. They receive direct mentorship from business and functional heads. Their careers are tracked regularly, while their growth is fast tracked with the purpose of making them part of a talent pool that can be tapped across the RPG Group.
I first experienced the RPG culture during my internship and ever since I was sure that this is the brand I want to work for. Working in RPG as a GMR has given me a host of opportunities to work with senior leaders.
RPG’s GMR program is at par with the leadership programs of other conglomerates. Only RPG’s GMR program could have given me this amazing learning opportunity to work for group-level strategy immediately after pursuing MBA. I regularly get to interact with the senior management of group companies for strategy projects. New ideas and process improvement discussions are highly appreciated in this organization. In sum, this program has highly exceeded my expectations.
The company has an open door policy which has allowed me to interact with Presidents, CEOs, CFOs and VPs and talk about topics related to strategy, business execution and marketing. You can knock on the door of any top management leader and talk at length on any topic, be it personal or professional.
My first experience with RPG was during my summer internship, wherein I got a chance to work on a project directly under the leadership of Raychem’s HR Head. As a HR GMR, my journey so far has been extremely enriching. From working with the front line sales team in a Business HR stint to being a part of the Group Talent Management team, the exposure has been multidimensional.
I joined RPG Group as a management trainee in supply chain. I have worked in different verticals of supply chain and started with distribution. I got an opportunity to work as production planning head with one of our plants and later on got promoted to GM-Sales and Operations planning.
RPG is an excellent place to work, learn and grow. What I like about RPG is the open culture, caring management, productive meaningful work and freedom to experiment. In KEC Projects and Cables businesses, not only did I get opportunities to work with talented people across multiple units and functions within, but also with our customers, contractors and suppliers.
RPG Enterprises is more like an interesting anthology than a boring novel, with each group company having their own unique origin and back story. I love being the internal ambassador of the “GMR” brand in my company which also means that we GMRs are a significant part of the unifying common fibre that binds the group companies together. Individual freedom and focus on professional development are highlights of my tenure in Raychem RPG.
It's been a wonderful journey so far with humongous learnings. The mantra in KEC is 'Transform to Outperform' and the biggest advantage as a GMR in KEC is that people trust that you are capable of handling responsibilities much higher than what your designation or experience otherwise suggests. Here, I have handled challenging work, negotiated on complex and high stake matters directly with external parties and worked independently on deals running in many million Rupees. All this without compromising on the work-life balance.
It has been quite an interesting journey so far…my initial stint of 1 year at CEAT in FP&A function followed by 2 years in RPG Group in Corporate Finance have been full of learnings and experiences. While focusing on unleashing talent, RPG touches lives by providing a platform to express thoughts and ideas freely. With a pleasant work-place environment, proficient colleagues, highly approachable, motivating & responsive seniors & Management. RPG is a great place to work!
Wonderful experience across group companies. My stint in CEAT gave me exposure to all aspects of a well-established business, from sales, to service, to marketing, to strategy. Then setting up the marketing function for the newly formed CEAT Specialty Tyres Ltd was another great exposure which entailed solving new problems every single day. Both these roles enabled me with learnings I’m implementing in my role as Co-Founder of Seniority Ltd. I doubt any other conglomerate in India offers such diverse experience to its employees in such a short span of time.
I have been exposed to various functions and group companies early on with stints across Total Rewards and L&OD teams at Zensar Technologies followed by a Plant HR role in CEAT. At RPG, the management believes in unleashing talent and with this faith I was given the responsibility of Campus Lead which oversees the end to end management of campus engagement and recruitment for the GMR program of the RPG Group. My two years has been an enriching learning experience thanks to the diverse and growing conglomerate which is RPG.
I strive for some ahaa moments in my life; moments that I can cherish forever; moments that give me an opportunity to prove myself. The GMR program has given me opportunities to continuously aim for those moments. The support and visibility that you receive from the leadership here is unparalleled. The platform allows me to take risks without worrying about failures.
