It is estimated that 80% of these are preventable if they get appropriate intervention in time. Identifying this critical need for eye intervention. Netranjali was conceptualized by RPG Foundation in 2014.
Netranjali is a unique eye health intervention, designed towards gaining holistic impact towards reducing preventable blindness. Since 2014, Netranjali has been able to achieve a significant impact through its unique screening and referral model. Screening camps are conducted in the midst of the communities that are spread across cities like Jaipur, Nashik, Nagpur, Halol, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad & Chennai. Specialized camps are conducted in the school premises that help identify and tap early stage intervention.
In several large communities, a Vision Centre (Hub-and-spoke) model is set up to expand the outreach. Free spectacles are distributed to beneficiaries with refractive errors and referrals given for hospitals in serious cases.
Since the inception, we've screened over 5,50,000 individuals across India and distributed more than 200,000 free spectacles.
