Spencer’s launches the Gourmet Store for the discerning palate

Spencer’s has recently launched its first Gourmet store in the country, which is also the first of its kind in the city of Kolkata. Speaking at the inauguration, Sanjiv Goenka said “We hope to further enhance the international experience of our discerning customers by offering the best of tastes from across the world.”

It is spread over an area of 1500 sq. ft and offers the finest ingredients of gourmet cuisine and recipes to guide in the making of lip smacking delicacies from across the world. The array and assortment of products is truly unique and also comfortably affordable. Products priced at as low as Rs.11, the store offers a wide range and assortment of gourmet breads, biscuits, beverages, chocolates, chilled & frozen, cheese, cold-cuts, convenience foods, exotic and organic fresh fruits and vegetables, pastas and noodles, oils and vinegars. There are more than 4000 products including about 200 variants of cheese, 100 variants of chilled and frozen, 500 different types of beverages, 300 types of pasta and noodles, about 60 variants in vegetarian and non-vegetarian convenience foods etc. The products serve as ingredients to cuisines of Thailand, China, Indonesia, America, Chile, Argentina, Italy, France, Spain, Sri Lanka and UK to name a few.

Spencer’s also plans to open six such Gourmet stores in its hyper stores in Gurgaon, Bangalore and Mumbai by the end of this fiscal. The Gourmet food concept is slowly catching up. Apart from food connoisseurs, Spencer’s now has the general consumer buying the finest gourmet products off its shelves.
