In an initiative which touches 400 students in a small village near Ankleshwar,
RPG Life Sciences creates a Computer Zone at a village school in Juna Bor Batha
RPG Life Sciences has
initiated several welfare and
development-oriented initiatives
in Juna Bor Batha village, close
to the company’s Ankleshwar
factory site.
Under the aegis of RPG
LS managing director Arvind
Vasudeva, HR head Ratish
Jha and their team members,
changes have been brought
about to provide basic facilities
in a local village school.
There was a severe problem
for the children to have access to
clean drinking water. The Life
Sciences team provided them
with a water filter, enabling
them access to clean water.
The children, who also used
to have their mid-day meals in
the open air, and often under
the hot sun, have been provided a shed for
them to have their mid-day meals within
the school premises.
To enable the children to access the
whole new world of computers, RPGLS
also created a new Computer Zone at the
school, and donated personal computers
for the Zone. The school has organized
five trainers who would provide computer
training to the children during school
hours.
As a result of all the contributions RPG
Life Sciences has made to the school and
the community in the village, the school
organized a short programme on the day
the Computer Zone was being inaugurated,
to express their appreciation for the efforts
of RPG Life Sciences. The Zone was
inaugurated by Vasudeva on January 5,
2010, which was also the inception day of
the school.

Vasudeva, in his speech, emphasized
the need for the children to remember their
roots at the village even while they went
to cities to earn their livelihood. He also
emphasized the importance of computers
in the new world.
Post-lunch, the RPG LS and Group
CSR team members spent some time with
the students and the administrative staff
to gauge into the challenges the school is
currently facing.
