CEAT may boost imports to meet soaring demand
DNA, MUMBAI, 09.06.2007

While auto manufacturers are talking of output cuts, CEAT Tyres, the country's fourth-largest tyre maker, is looking at ramping up production. "Looking at the robust replacement demand, right now we are unable to manufacture enough. My No 1 priority is to secure supplies through outsourcing, since the two Greenfield plants we are planning to set up would come on stream only over the next two-three years," Arnab Banerjee, vice-president, sales & marketing, CEAT Tyres, said.
