Identify and Agree on development needs
The first step to any journey is the map. Similarly in this case the first step
will be to agree on the learning map through a Development Action Plan. This should
ideally be created at the end of the performance appraisal discussion for you and
your DRs.
Identify the appropriate development opportunity
Based on the development needs agree and identify the learning curriculum for the
next 12-18 months. You may choose to attend one to several programmes to fast track
your learning.
Calendarise the learning curriculum
- Group OD and learning sends out a training calendar for every quarter to the company
learning and development leads. You can send your nominations to them in advance
or against the monthly mails that are sent out by them. Please ensure that you nominate
yourself and your team members.
- The programme calendar will also be available on the group website, www.rpggroup.com/learning
- Also a Learning Management System will soon be available to the employees that will
automate the process of nominations. Till then route your nominations through the
learning and development leads of individual companies.
Sending the nominations
The filled nomination forms need to reach the learning and development leads at
least 15 days prior to the programme.
Make learning an ongoing activity
Continue and strengthen the learning through appropriate e-learning courses and
by pursuing the suggested reading and viewing options given to you. After all learning
can not happen merely through a one time contact but rather it is an ongoing pursuit.
