Bringing about change by providing an educational culture that enhances learning.

Pehlay Akshar

Unemployment in India is projected to increase from 17.7 million last year to 17.8 million in 2017 and 18 million next year. RPG Foundation's program - Pehlay Akshar powered by Ceat aims provide better employment opportunities by upskilling students in communication, critical thinking and problem-solving.

Pehlay Akshar is a six-year program running in partnership with 22 government schools in Maharashtra & Gujrat. It aims to teach functional English through lateral teaching methods such as Experiential Learning to children from developing communities.

Rather than passively listening to the teacher, children in a Pehlay Akshar classroom learn by reflecting upon fun activities and games. Pehlay Akshar Graduates are proficient in functional English skills - i.e. speaking, listening, comprehension and reading skills. Pehlay Akshar students are also pushed explore their creativity during the Annual Theatrical Program and the Summer Camps.

Our facilitators operate in highly challenging environments, requiring continuous technical and emotional support to achieve our aims. They're trained in teaching methods, classroom management, emotional wellbeing, change management, and leadership.

Pehlay Akshar has touched the lives of over 2000 children since its inception in 2010.
